To ensure a smooth setup:

  • βœ”οΈ Your car must support wired Apple CarPlay or wired Android Auto.
  • βœ”οΈ Use the original CarPlay / Android Auto USB or Type-C port in your car.
  • βœ”οΈ Turn WiFi and Bluetooth ON on your phone.
  • βœ”οΈ Your vehicle must be switched on while you complete setup.
πŸ“± How do I set up Wireless CarPlay (iPhone)?
  1. πŸ”Œ Plug the Northly adapter into your car’s original CarPlay USB port.
  2. πŸ“Ά On your iPhone, turn WiFi ON (you don’t need to join any network).
  3. πŸ”΅ Turn Bluetooth ON, then search for the device named SmartBox-*****.
  4. 🀝 Tap Pair, approve the sync request and tap Use CarPlay if prompted.
  5. πŸš€ Within a few seconds, Wireless CarPlay will launch on your car’s screen.

After the first setup, your iPhone will reconnect automatically when you start the car.

πŸ“² How do I set up Wireless Android Auto?
  1. πŸ”Œ Plug the Northly adapter into your car’s original Android Auto USB port.
  2. πŸ“Ά Turn WiFi ON on your phone (no need to connect to a network).
  3. πŸ”΅ Turn Bluetooth ON, then search for the device named SmartBox-*****.
  4. 🀝 Tap Pair and accept permissions. On some phones the name may change to Your Car MyLink.
  5. πŸš€ After a short moment, Wireless Android Auto will launch automatically.

Works best with Samsung and Google Pixel devices.

πŸš— My car supports both CarPlay & Android Auto. Can I use both wirelessly?

Yes β€” the Northly adapter works with either CarPlay or Android Auto.

Notes:

  • βš™οΈ Some vehicles require you to switch between CarPlay and Android Auto in the car’s system settings.
  • 🍏 iPhone: connect via Bluetooth and CarPlay will start wirelessly using WiFi.

πŸ›‘ The adapter won’t connect β€” what should I try?

Most issues are quick to fix:

  • πŸ”Œ Make sure the adapter is plugged into the correct original CarPlay/Android Auto USB port.
  • ♻️ Restart both your vehicle and your phone.
  • ❌ On your phone, remove SmartBox-***** from the Bluetooth list, then try pairing again.

Most modern vehicles (especially 2017 and newer) support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The links below provide an official list of supported models β€” however, customers must still confirm that their specific vehicle and radio system actually supports wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto.

Even if your vehicle appears on the list, compatibility is not guaranteed if your car does not have the required wired CarPlay/Android Auto port.
